----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are planning on running Team Duals on Sunday, April 25. These are being run  mostly as a THANK YOU for those that have chosen to participate in the Individual Competition the day before. Therefore, there will be an additional $50 charge ($25 for the Girl's Division), per wrestler, (payable in cash at the time of their weigh in on Saturday night), that have not participated in the April 24 Individual TofC. Those that participate on Saturday WILL NOT need to weigh in again, unless trying to go down to a lower weight class than their Friday weight was recorded. All Teams may have a maximum of 3 alternates on their roster.

We are planning on having the Duals wrapped up around 4 pm and plan to give awards out to the top 3 Teams in each Division.

Weigh-ins, for those participating in the Duals only would be held Saturday night, from (time to be determined...most likely the 6-8 pm time frame).

A list of wrestlers looking for Teams, as well as Teams looking for wrestlers, can be found here: https://ohiotofc.com/page/32-team-duals-free-agents

If you have a wrestler that needs added to this page, please e-mail his birth year, weight and a notable accomplishment and we will post it. Teams looking for wrestlers should e-mail us the Age Division and weight(s) they are looking for.

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS DUAL MEET RULES

OHIO TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

DUAL MEET INFORMATION

APRIL 25, 2021

WEIGH-INS

For those wrestlers that are also doing the Individual Tournament, on April 24, their weigh in  on Friday evening, from 4-8 pm, will suffice and they will not need to weigh in again, unless they need to make a lower weight to be eligible for their competing weight class in the Duals.

For those wrestlers that are just competing in the Dual Meet Event, their weigh ins will be held on Saturday evening, from 6-8 pm.

In addition, those wrestlers that did not compete in the Individual Event will need to be an additional cash weigh in fee on Saturday night. This fee is $50 for all of the Boy’s Divisions and $25 for the Girl’s Duals.

ADMISSION

We are not charging for Admission for either the Individual Event, or the Duals.

DUAL MEET AWARDS

The top finishing team, in each Division, will receive a special Team Trophy. The top 3 Teams, in each Division, will receive medals (number of weight classes+3)

ROSTER SIZE

Each Team is limited to a roster size that is determined by the number of weight classes in their Division + 3 additional wrestlers.

SUBMITTING ROSTERS

You should be receiving a separate e-mail, with information on registering your Team and the individual wrestlers. We will allow late changes, thru Saturday night, April 24, (and, if need be, Sunday morning), due to injuries and other unavoidable circumstances.

Also,  the Divisions are determined by Birth Year, and not by age as of day of event. However, some may have a grade limitation. A wrestler on your squad cannot be older than the Division allows, but we may allow a younger wrestler, by one year, to fill a roster spot.

Roster entry should be done on www.wrestlereg.com and click on the Blue Box "Team Admin Login".  Username and passwords were sent out and check your junk email if you did not receive it.  If you are having any issues please email vulcanojr@hotmail.com

There will be a two family members/spectators maximum per wrestler, allowed for the Dual Meet competition.  Obviously, those running a temperature, or sick, should not be attending and will be asked to leave.

Mandatory mask requirement will be in effect for all wrestlers, coaches and spectators, with the exception of those wrestlers currently wrestling, or on deck.

COVID GUIDELINES

Mandatory mask requirement will be in effect for all wrestlers, coaches and spectators, with the exception of those wrestlers currently wrestling, or on deck.

There will be a two family members/spectators maximum per wrestler, allowed for the Dual Meet competition.  Obviously, those running a temperature, or sick, should not be attending and will be asked to leave.

 TABLE HELP

Each Team will need to provide one person to help with the match scoring (scoreboard operator and camera operator are the two positions we will need each match). Also, if you have an additional team member, or younger sibling, we can also use their help as the “towel” person.

NUMBER OF MATCHES

We are going to do our best to get each team at least 5 dual meets – some may get 6. Also, some Teams may also have to compete in their own Division (Local vs. All-Star), but then get “extra” matches by being in a combined Division. Teams, however, will only place in their original entered Division.

RULES

We will use the wrestling rules of the Individual Tournament. The only change is that if a match is tied, after the three minute regulation period, as well as the overtime period, they match will be decided by the following criteria:

Any Unsportsmanlike Points

Any penalty points (stalling, etc…) against

Most near fall points

Most takedowns

Most reversals

Most escapes

Any stalling warnings

If all above is equal, then the match will be considered tie

DUAL MEET SCORING

Pin, Forfeit, Default-5 points

Tech Fall (10+ Points)-4 points

Regular Decision-3 Points

Tie-2 points Per Team

DUAL MEET TEAM SCORING, IN CASE OF A TIE

Number of Individual Match Victories

Least Number of Unsportsmanlike Points

Most Falls

Most Tech Falls

Most Decisions

Most Takedowns

Most Near Fall Points

Least Number of Stalling Points

Least Number of Stalling Warnings

Fastest Fall

TEAM PLACEMENT

Number of Dual Meet Wins

In Case of a tie, Head to Head Dual will determine placement

If three way tie, then total Team Score Advantage, between the tied teams, will determine placement.

SESSIONS

The Dual Meets will be run on 24 mats and basically in two sessions. This is being done to keep the numbers down at any given time, due to the COVID situation). However, there will most likely be some overlap, with some second session teams beginning prior to other teams in the second session.

Once we close out, we will be able to provide a more accurate time schedule. We do hope to begin at either 8 or 9 am and finish by about 4 pm.  Our plan is to run 7 duals per mat and we do plan to keep Divisions on the same set of mats, as much as possible.

Currently, I am not sure which Divisions will begin a part of the first wave and which in the second wave.
